Testing the TH21

Rail Products UK has spent the last couple of days this week in the lovely and unspoilt valleys of deepest Derbyshire testing our new TH21 Road/ Rail Crane on rail track under the careful scrutiny of Network Rail supervisors. The TH21 Crane has been put through some rigorous tests to ensure it is fit for purpose and receives its Network Rail certification. Therefore we are glad to report that all the on-track testing appears to have gone very well with the TH21 performing exceptionally well during all lifting and braking tests as well as effortlessly cruising up a 1 in 25 gradient with 49 tons attached on two trailers.

We were also pleased to welcome a number of invited guests to the test site so they could view this superbly designed Road /Rail Crane close up and personal as well as watch an on-track demonstration of the machine’s undoubted versatility and recognise why we believe the TH21 will help revolutionise lifting on the railways.

Images from the test site show the TH21 on-track, the crane towing a massive 52 ton load on two trailers,  the 1-25  gradient test, the Crane being extended to  its incredible 21 metre height and the Crane off- track, un-loading blocks from the trailer.
